The site is located adjacent to the main jetty serving the Tioman Island Resort. It has a backdrop of lush hillside and overlooks the 18th hole of the existing golf course.
The clubhouse is conceptualized as a three-storey L-shaped building hugging the hill backdrop. The entrance lobby is designed as a double-volumed space located at the intersection of the "L-shape", forming the linkage between the two wings.
The architectural treatment of the building is derived from tropical vernacular and traditional Malay architecture, and it fits in comfortably with the surrounding context and existing architecture of the island resort .
