This project was part of Government of Malaysia's program to improve the country's health services by redevelopment and refurbishment of General and District hospitals in Malaysia.

The masterplanning, detailed design and phased construction at Hospital Sultanah Aminah involved upgrading essential utilities and services, improving pedestrian and vehicular traffic circulation, constructing new and refurbishing/extending existing hospital buildings and related utilities.
