This building is completely refurbished and redesigned from an existing building which used to be a departmental store to a family oriented suburban shopping mall in the heart of the Bangsar Baru Commercial Area.

The building structural frame has remained largely untouched including the roof. Essentially the main shopping mall entrance has been relocated to face the busy Jalan Telawi 1 instead of Jalan Ara.

This Bangsar Village 1 is meant to be part of an overall shopping experience linking up with Bangsar Village 2 by an elevated air-conditioned dedicated pedestrian bridge over the Jalan Telawi 1.
